There are two Decennial Shield competitions each year, one for prints and one for projected digital images, each with three rounds of competition.
The trophy for each competition is awarded based on the results accumulated over the three rounds of each competition.
Each image will be awarded a score out of 20 points. The member with the highest total score after the three rounds will be declared the winner. If there is a tie, the person with the highest number of 20’s will be the winner.
All current full club members are eligible and may enter.
The maximum entry for Projected Images or Prints is three per member per competition. In the event of a large entry for any competition, the Competition Secretary may ask members to restrict entry to two. Prints may be monochrome or colour and may be processed. Prints must be mounted on board and bear (on the back of the mount on top L. H. corner) the entrant’s name and title of the entry. The maximum size of the mounting board is 20” x 16”, and the minimum size of the print is 8½” x 6½”. Specifications for projected images are set out at the end of this document. All competitions have ‘open’ subjects. All competitors are equal, and the judge’s decision will be final.
All competitions are to be judged by outside judges.
Images must be entirely the work of the Photographer. In composite images, all component images must meet this requirement. For the avoidance of doubt, use of images from any other source including, but not limited to, royalty free image banks and clipart are not permitted.
